Have you ever wanted to enjoy an afternoon hanging out with your friends AND playing with some loveable pups? The Dog Bar lets you do just that! Bring your two-legged and four-legged friends along for a great time!
Sit. Stay. Drink.
The Dog Bar, located in the “Grand Central District” of St. Petersburg, is a fusion between a full liquor, wine and beer bar and a private dog park.
The Dog Bar has both indoor and outdoor areas that people and dogs can enjoy. Adult games including Ping Pong, Skee Ball and Corn Hole can be played at the bar.
The outdoor space has both an “on leash” and “off leash” area. The “on leash” area has cozy bench style seating where you and the other dog owners can drink and hang out. The “off leash” or Dog Bar Dog Park area, is where your pup with have plenty of space to play with their friends.
The outdoor space is split into two areas, the small dog play area and the medium/large dog play area. Both areas have swimming pools, doggie ramps, tunnels and places for lounging. There will always be a Dog Park supervisor on-site to ensure that your pup is safe.
The Dog Bar’s monthly bath day
You can bring your furry friends to the Dog Bar once a month for pampering, including a bath, ear cleaning and nail trimming. All of the proceeds from this monthly event go directly to Ruff Beginnings Rescue, a dog rescue organization that saves dogs and matches them with a loving home.
“[The proceeds] help with spay and neutering, vaccinations or any other costs for the rescue. Essentially vet bills,” said Lydia Crumbaugh, general manager of The Dog Bar.
While your pup is getting pampered, you can relax and enjoy a drink while watching a game on one or more of the many large TVs at the bar.
Requirements for pups to play
- Current vaccinations from a vet
- Must show proof of rabies vaccinations
- Dogs must be spayed/neutered when 1 year of age and older
- Dogs must be well behaved and maintain good dog behavior during play
“I think for owners, they like the fact that they know that their dog is playing with other dogs that are vaccinated,” said Nikki Maness, a “Wooferee” at The Dog Bar.
There is no breed or size restriction for the dogs at the Dog Bar, so feel free to bring in your Chihuahua, Great Dane or any size pup in between.
