Sarasota Murder Manhunt
Sarasota County deputies are searching for 31-year-old Daniel Davenport, accused of murdering 55-year-old Sergio Hostins.
Honstins was reported missing Monday, Oct. 8, 2018. His body was recovered in Collier County, the day after he was reported missing.
Davenport was seen in the Orlando area driving Hostins’ green Subaru Forrester, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone who comes in contact with, or sees, Davenport is asked to call 911 as soon as possible.
Election Equipment Accuracy Test
Hillsborough County voting equipment is now sealed and being watched under camera surveillance until the 2018 elections start.
Today in Tampa, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections conducted a Logic and Accuracy Test of the ballot scanners that will be used in the 2018 General Elections. These tests are to ensure that these machines recognize every space on the ballot sheets and that they will count the votes correctly.
Early voting in Hillsborough County, Sarasota County and Pinellas County starts Monday, Oct. 22 and runs until Nov. 4.

Three Manatees Trapped by Hurricane Michael Rescued and Released
Crews rescued Manatees today at Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officials believe that the high tides caused by Hurricane Matthew led to the manatees swimming into the area and ultimately becoming trapped.
Rescuers say they pulled two of the three trapped manatees out from the water and were able to release them into Old Tampa Bay, after receiving a brief medical exam. The manatees are believed to have been trapped for several days.
USF Launches New Logo During Homecoming Week
Last week was homecoming week in Tampa and the University of South Florida invited all to participate in the celebration. The week included countless events, including a free carnival, a Rae Sremmurd concert and the USF v. UConn game at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday.
During this year’s Homecoming week, USF rolled out its new look. The students and alumni got a first glace at billboards, banners and merchandise around the campus.

Job Fair News hosted a job fair at George M Steinbrenner Event Pavilion, across from Raymond James Stadium, on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The event involved recruiters from two dozen Bay area companies, including T-Mobile, USAA, Fanatics and many more. These recruiters were on hand to meet and interview applicants.
The job opportunities are for those of all experience levels and skill sets.
