Proceeds from the event go to support the sorority’s national philanthropy, Girls on the Run, an after-school program to help empower girls from 3rd to 8th grade. Laura Moore, council director from the local Tampa Bay chapter, said, “We love working with Gamma Phi Beta. We appreciate their support for this great cause.”
Gary Inman from Pi Kappa Phi, one of the thirteen organizations participating, serves chili made by his fraternity.
In addition to the chili cook-off, guests were also able to participate in a cornhole tournament. Kim Lam, a member of Gamma Phi Beta, is intently watching the match as she referees the tournament.
The DJ played a mix of top hits, including country, encouraging guests to line dance.
The organizations were judged on organization attendance, theme, cornhole tournament results, and quality of chili. Sigma Nu took home first place overall.
